And now for a quick history lesson… the Grog Shop opened in September of 1992 right here in Coventry Village. Though expanded in size when moved to its current location in 2003, the club maintains the intimacy and raw character it has always been known for. Grog Shop strives to showcase live music 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The venue has played host to countless local, national, and international touring acts for thirty years, booking all ranges of indie rock, hip-hop, hardcore, jam, reggae, metal, electronic, comedy… you get the idea.
Since we’re feeling all nostalgic… here’s a list of extraordinary acts that have graced our stage over the last 30 years: Dead Moon, Swervedriver, Elliot Smith, Rudy Ray Moore, Bright Eyes, The Ex, Supergrass, Turbonegro, GZA, Eek A Mouse, Link Wray, US Maple, Jonathon Richman, Melvins, Hank III, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Boulder, NRBQ, Oasis, The Flaming Lips, Cursive, High On Fire, Le Tigre, Royal Trux, Dick Dale, Mastodon, Guided By Voices, Hold Steady, Meat Puppets, Saul Williams, Sleater Kinney, Antiseen, Whitest Kids U Know, Daniel Johnston, Slint, Crash Worship, Devin The Dude, Failure, Built To Spill, Mike Watt, The New Bomb Turks, Damo Suzuki, Mission Of Burma, Dinosaur Jr., Fu Manchu, El-P, The Church, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, Cloud Nothings, Black Keys, Against Me, Anti-Pop Consortium, Big Freedia, Wiz Khalifa, Stiff Little Fingers, Girl Talk, Converge, Dandy Warhols, Eagles Of Death Metal, Caribou, Animal Collective, Keelhaul, Tinariwen, Lemonheads, Murder By Death, Sebadoh, Dead Meadow, Skatalites, The Locust, The Murder Junkies, W. Grog Shop’s 30th Anniversary would not be possible without the continued support of the Cleveland music community, local & national acts, fans, partners, and all others who have joined us for events over the years. With that being said, our 30th Anniversary would be pretty lame without all of you to celebrate here with us. Stay tuned, check out the upcoming schedule, and we hope to rock with you in September!
