This Thursday, August 12, 2010, join us for Party in the P.E.A.C.E. Park, the closing event for the Coventry Village Summer Music & Movies Series.

Festivities start at 6:00 p.m. with the great band MO MOJO playing on the stage located on the soccer field of Coventry Elementary School. We will have a ton of other activities perfect for friends, families and neighbors, going on from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Watch, listen or participate with musicians and dancers from Passport Project and Progressive Arts Alliance. We also have the Bubble Lady to entertain. As usual, Flower Clown, along with one of his sidekicks will be creating incredible balloon art for the kids. John, the Mountain Juggler, will be tossing—whatever is in his reach—up in the air. A magician and a special demonstration by a Capoeria group will keep all entertained.

Families and friends can bring a picnic or purchase food from one of our great Coventry restaurants, then sit back to watch the entertainment. We hope you can all join us for this evening of family fun on Coventry.

Movie tribute to Harvey Pekar: American Splendor

Our final movie of the season will be in honor/memory of our neighbor, Harvey Pekar. American Splendor is a 2003 bio pic of Harvey Pekar's life, adapted in part from his comic book series, American Splendor. The tribute to Harvey Pekar will begin around 8:45 p.m.

Note: While prior movies in our series were family friendly, American Splendor is rated R for language. Parents may wish to read the parental advisory from the IMDB database to decide whether the movie is appropriate for their children.
